Understanding the funding that is available and what you could be eligible to can appear a little overwhelming. But it doesn’t need to be. We hope this page is helpful in exploring all options available to you in order to help with early years education and childcare fees.
We are an all year round pre-school, open 51 weeks of the year with the exception of bank holidays.
This is a voluntary, supplementary charge that we apply to each session in order to make the pre-school day as seamless for both yourself and our team. It enables children to enjoy daily access to soft play, external outings as well as providing everything needed for the pre-school day so that you don’t have to worry.
The consumable charge is £9 per full day (£4.50 half day) and covers: soft play, external outings, snacks, nappies, wipes, nappy sacks, PPE
As we are an all-year-round preschool, funded hours are stretched across the year, allowing families to access their entitlement consistently each week rather than during term time only. If you have any questions about your funding or how it works at our setting, our team will be happy to help.
What does this mean?
Instead of using all funded hours over 38 school weeks, your child’s entitlement is spread across the full year. This provides a regular number of funded hours each week while enabling your child to attend throughout the year.
Working Families Funding helps eligible families with the cost of childcare by providing 15 or 30 funded hours a week, depending on your child’s age and your eligibility.
A stretched offer to cover the full year would be 11 or 22 hours a week.
To access this funding, you’ll need to apply for a childcare code through the Government Childcare Account and renew your code every three months. Once you have your code, simply share it with us so we can claim the funding on your behalf.
Some 2-year-olds may be eligible for 15 hours of funded childcare through the government’s Early Learning for 2-Year-Olds programme (previously known as 2-Year-Old Disadvantaged Funding).
This funding is available to families who meet certain eligibility criteria, including those receiving some benefits or where a child has specific circumstances, such as an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan, Disability Living Allowance, or has been looked after by a local authority.
As an all-year-round preschool, funded hours are stretched across the year, meaning 11 hours a week of funding.

All children in England are entitled to 15 hours of funded early education from the term after their third birthday, regardless of family income or employment status.
Stretched across the year, thus would be 11 hours of funding each week.
This funding provides children with valuable opportunities to learn, play and develop in a nurturing early years environment, helping them build the confidence and skills they need before starting school.
If you’re unsure when your child’s funding begins or how many funded hours are available each week, please get in touch and we can assist.
Example: Your child is 3 in November, funding will be available in the Autumn term (January).
Tax-Free Childcare can help eligible working families reduce the cost of childcare. For every £8 you pay into your childcare account, the government adds £2, helping you save on any childcare costs not covered by funded hours.

If you’re receiving Universal Credit and are in work, you may be able to claim back up to 85% of your childcare costs, up to the government’s maximum monthly limit.
This support can be used alongside funded childcare to help reduce the cost of any additional hours your child attends. You’ll usually need to pay your childcare fees first and then report these costs through your Universal Credit account to receive reimbursement.

If you’re already enrolled in your employer’s Childcare Voucher Scheme, you can continue to use your vouchers to pay for childcare fees at our preschool.
Please note that the scheme is now closed to new applicants, but existing members can continue using their vouchers if they remain eligible.
The Disability Access Fund (DAF) is additional government funding available for eligible children who receive funded early education and are in receipt of Disability Living Allowance (DLA). The funding is paid directly to the preschool to help us make reasonable adjustments, purchase resources or provide additional support to ensure every child can fully access and enjoy their early years education.

The Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) is additional government funding available to support the learning and development of eligible children. The funding is paid directly to the preschool and is used to enhance children’s learning experiences, provide additional resources and interventions, and help ensure every child has the best possible start in their early years.
If you think your family may be eligible, we encourage you to speak to a member of our team or complete an eligibility check. Even if your child already receives funded childcare, they may still qualify for EYPP.
